Great Northwest Territories, Canada
Automated CCJS interface.
An automated statistical interface to the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics
(CCJS) was recently installed as an integral part of the CSM system. This automated
interface collects both case activities and financial information to monitor
and track case activities, arrears, collection rates, etc. Previously MEP staff
would run queries or collect the data by hand, consolidate the information and
for the data to federal agencies. The advent of the automated interface makes
the entire process seamless and requires practically no human intervention, saving
considerable time and staff resources.

Great Northwest Territories, Canada
Replaced Legacy System.
Several months ago, CSE Resources successfully bid to replace an
aging Maintenance Enforcement Program system with our PowerBuilder/SQL Server
solution called child Support Manager (CSM). From the beginning CSE Resources,
MEP and IT staffs worked diligently to map data and features to ensure the
new
CSM system
would not
only
be able to
absorb data from the legacy system but also provide expanded capabilities to
meet current requirements. Now fully operational, CSM provides
tight fiscal controls, automated payment and collection processing, direct
deposit, employer posting, case activity and worker performance tracking, notice
generation, etc.
CSM is used as the base system with customization to meet MEP's
specific requirements. The time from software development, data conversion,
training and
implementation was remarkably fast.
Today the newly installed CSM system is proving to be a tremendous benefit
to overall MEP operations by providing more timely and accurate case and financial
reporting.

Broward County, FL
Client web interface expanded to include more data.
With the completion of the enhanced Broward County SED/CMA system,
the next focus was to provide this additional data to clients. The current
web site was enhanced to accommodate client login, searches for appointment
information, court results, payment data, etc. This capability not only
provided more and
better data to clients but also dramatically reduced the number of calls
to the agency.

Dallas, TX
Parent Power installs modified version of CSM.
Parent Power, a private collection agency, installed a
modified version of CSE's Child Support manager (CSM). The modified version
was specifically enhanced to accommodate collection agency needs.
This new version automatically posts monies according to a preset
hierarchy
which
not only includes the needs of the client but also provides for the collection
of fees for the company. Through the new system Parent Power is able
to increase productivity without spending considerable time on
bookkeeping
matters. The new CSM system provides case and financial management tools
not available in many systems currently on the market today. Each
installation
of CSM is customized to meet the customers specific needs.

Broward County, FL
Enhanced modules added to Broward County system expands
capabilities of Florida's Association of Court Clerk's (FACC) system.
After nearly two years, enhancements to Broward County's Support
Enforcement Division system (SED/CMA) are complete and fully operational.
Using the existing
FACC statewide system, Broward County could access a statewide database
and perform
operations
provided by the statewide system. Although the
statewide
system
provided many basic features there were numerous unique requirements
from the courts that encouraged Broward County to seek enhancements.
After successfully
winning the the bid, CSE Resources joined forces with the County to create
a unique solution to keep the FACC system in place but add features
and capabilities to meet new and changing requirements.
In conjunction with Support Enforcement Division (SED) staff and Office
of Information Technology (OIT) staff the existing Unix/Informix interface
with the state's FACC system was enhanced to include specific PowerBuilder/Oracle
application software modules. These modules added numerous data fields
and screens. Through this enhancement, the county is now able to store
additional
data fields, court action flags, and court results; generate customizable
documents using MS Word;, scan, store, and search documents; quickly and
easily schedule cases, attorneys, magistrates, judges
for court; extract statistical information; and monitor worker
performance; to name just a few features.
The entire process is accomplished by merging the data from both FACC database
and the new Oracle database into common PowerBuilder application screens,
reports and documents. By merging the data in this fashion the user is not
aware that
the data is coming
from two separate databases. Working with enhanced screens, documents, and
reports the user simply sees and expanded system that now provides all the
functionality they need to increase their productivity and provide better
customer service.
CSM was used as the base system, then customized to meet the County's
specific needs. The time from software development, data conversion,
training and implementation was relatively short.
